RESIDENTIAL MODELS QUALIFY FOR A
30% Federal Solar Tax Credit
In order to qualify for tax credits as defined in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, the solar attic fan must have been placed in service on your home from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2032. Starting January 1, 2033, it will drop to a 26% credit and in 2034 it will decrease to 22%.
The homeowner is eligible to receive a 30% federal tax credit on the solar panel portion of the unit as well as any installation costs incurred. There is no cap on the cost amount on which a tax credit can be claimed on qualifying photovoltaic systems in accordance to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
Additionally, the solar attic fan must have been properly installed meeting all applicable building, electrical and fire codes. Residential models may also qualify for local and state solar and utility credits.
Claiming your Tax Credit
To assist with claiming a tax credit, Natural Light has provided a Statement of Certification for homeowners. Please download and complete the form and keep it with your tax records. The Statement of Certification is not required to be filed with your forms, but income tax regulations require taxpayers to have appropriate documentation to qualify for a tax credit.
