Tile Roof Fan Options

For tile, slate, or other thicker roofing material, you have 2 choices: our exclusively designed model for tile roofs – the Tile Profile Fixed Panel Model or our Adjustable Panel Roof Mount Model with a Turret Extension. Most tile installations will also need a Flashing Tile Skirt to ensure a watertight installation.

Our Tile Profile fan was specifically designed to accommodate thick tile or slate roofs. It features all the same quality components as our rugged Ultra Low Profile fan, but the housing portion of the fan is raised higher to clear the thicker roofing material.

The Natural Light Tile Profile Solar Attic Fan model is an extremely durable unit. The fan housing is raised 3" higher than the Low Profile model to accommodate thicker tile or slate roofing material. It eliminates the need for a turret extension. The Tile Profile model is the perfect solution for the popular S-style tile roofs.

OPTIONAL ACCESSORY

Turret Extension for Roof Mount Model

The standard Adjustable Panel Roof Mount fan can also be used on tile roofs. To accommodate thicker roofing material, Natural Light designed a Turret Extension which can be purchased separately. This extender raises the housing portion of the fan 3 inches to clear the thicker tiles. The Turret Extension is easily installed by removing the existing housing bracket and replacing it with the Turret Extension.

Tile Roof Flashing Skirt

Most solar attic fan installations on tile roofs will need an additional flashing skirt. The custom designed flashing skirt is installed over the solar attic fan flashing to ensure a weather-tight installation.

The flashing skirt is made of a soft, heavy-gauge aluminum that molds over any tile shape. The rubber seal fits over the base unit. The steps to install a solar attic fan on tile roofs are slightly different than a standard installation. Please refer to our detailed installation instructions.

EASY INSTALLATION: Natural Light solar attic fans are fully assembled right out of the box. Installation requires basic DIY skills and can be completed in about 1 hour.
