Enhance Your Solar Attic Fan with an Accessory

Natural Light offers several products to add extra functionality to our Solar Attic Fans or to assist with tile installations.

Natural Light solar attic fan thermal switch accessory

NATURAL LIGHT ACCESSORY

Thermal Switch

The thermal snap switch is a small device that attaches to the attic fan motor. It’s designed to turn on the Solar Attic Fan when the temperature in the attic reaches approximately 80°F.

The thermal switch will turn off the motor when the temperature in the attic reaches 70°F. The switch helps maintain a consistent temperature when the weather is temperate and also reduces wear on the attic fan.

Fire Safety Cutoff Switch

The optional fire safety cutoff switch is specially designed to help stop the spread of house attic fires during daytime fan operation by shutting down the fan.

The switch features a fusible link that will melt at 228° Fahrenheit to limit the introduction of fresh air that would otherwise help feed the fire. It is easily installed alone or in conjunction with the thermal switch.

Remote Panel for Shady Roofs

A remote solar panel is used in applications where there is limited sunshine available at the location where the solar attic fan needs to been installed. The remote panel is installed away from the attic fan assembly in a sunny area, capturing the maximum amount of sunlight and therefore achieving optimal attic fan performance.

Tile Roof Flashing Skirt

Most solar attic fan installations on tile roofs will need an additional flashing skirt. The custom designed flashing skirt is installed over the solar attic fan flashing to ensure a weather-tight installation.

The flashing skirt is made of a soft heavy-gauge aluminum that molds over any tile shape. The rubber seal fits over the base unit. The steps to install a solar attic fan on tile roofs are slightly different than a standard installation. Please refer to our detailed installation instructions.

Natural Light fan turret extension accessory

Turret Extension for Tile Roofs

The turret extension is a uniquely designed extender for the solar attic fan. It raises the housing portion of the fan 3 inches to allow additional room for thicker tile roofs. The turret extension is easily installed by removing the existing housing bracket and protective screen assembly and replacing it with the turret extension.

Natural Light also manufactures a Tile Profile model which is designed specially for thick tile roofs. See Model.
